I’ve not read anything by Lauren Myracle before, but Maureen Johnson and more so John Green are authors whose books I’ve loved reading over the last few years. So I knew that I was in for a fun time with at least two out of the three stories, but I was please to find that all three stories were great fun to read.

While I enjoyed Shelter (the first book), it sometimes fell a little short for me. While I won’t say Seconds Away was perfect, I did enjoy it, that little bit more.

Shiverton Hall by Emerald Fennell [Review]

Arthur Bannister has been unexpectedly accepted into Shiverton Hall, which, as it turns out, is an incredibly spooky school, full of surprises. And it is just as well that Shiverton Hall has made its offer, because Arthur had a horrible time at his previous school, and was desperate to leave.

London Falling by Paul Cornell [Review]

Anybody expecting the urban fantasy London of Gaiman or Aaronovitch, is going to be in for a bit of a shock, London Falling is much, much darker, with definite elements of the horror genre mixed in as well.

I’m at the point now, that when I spot a :01 (FirstSecond) graphic novel, that I’ve not seen before, I’m almost at the till point, before I look what the thing is about, and that was case with Bloody Chester by J.T. Petty & Hilary Florido.
