The one thing that has been a constant throughout all the Marcus Sedgwick books I’ve read, is his wonderful use of atmosphere, especially of the gothic variety, in She is Not Invisible, it takes a back seat. Certainly the heat, hustle and bustle of New York still comes across, but other elements are more important here.
