About Black Knight
Dev and his friends are back with more mind-bending tech in this third instalment of The Inventory series.
The World Consortium is recruiting more agents to defend the most advanced technology the world isn’t ready for, and it’s up to Dev, Lottie and Mase to train them up for action. But will they be ready before Shadow Helix’s next strike? And has Dev uncovered all the secrets of his past, or is there more to know about his special abilities?
Now if only Dev could lend me a time-machine. I’m sure there must be a spare one in The Inventory somewhere. I could pretend that is two months since my last proper blog post and since Andy Briggs stopped by as part of his blog tour.
But we’re here now, and I need to start catching up with some reviews, so it seems right to start with Black Knight, the latest in Andy Briggs’ fantastic The Inventory series.
This time out, new characters join Dev and his friends. The way they are recruited was a lot of fun. But how will they fit in? How will they react to secrets they discover? They’re are not given much time to settle before being thrust into the action, and will have to gel as a team on-the-fly. (Almost literally given some of the gadgets, they will get to play with!)
As you would expect, if you’ve been following The Inventory series so far there are twists and turns aplenty. Not only that, but another group reveal themselves. A group who are as desperate to get their hands on the items Dev’s team, or the Shadow Helix. Whose side are they on? Or do they have their own ulterior motives?
The action kicks-off, right from the start and rarely lets up until the final page. Whether it be the recruitment of new members, or the mission itself, things keep moving at a breathless pace. Mixing in as many new questions as there are astonishing revelations, as he goes.
As you would be expecting with this series so far, the ending will leave you clamouring for the next book. At least once you’ve recovered enough!
Black Knight is another great addition to the series, and you can be sure I’ll eagerly be snatching up the next book in the series, as soon as I can get my hands on it!
My copy of Black Knight was provided by the publisher for review purposes.
