About: Prisoner of Ice and Snow
Valor is under arrest for the attempted murder of the crown prince. Her parents are outcasts from the royal court, her sister is banished for theft of a national treasure, and now Valor has been sentenced to life imprisonment at Demidova, a prison built from stone and ice.
But that’s exactly where she wants to be. For her sister was sent there too, and Valor embarks on an epic plan to break her out from the inside.
No one has escaped from Demidova in over three hundred years, and if Valor is to succeed she will need all of her strength, courage and love. If the plan fails, she faces a chilling fate worse than any prison …
Valor is incedibly brave, but also a bit naive when she gets herself put in the ice prison at Demidova, in an attempt to help her sister escape. A prison that is know for it’s hardships and that it is also impossible to escape from.
She gets a pretty quick lesson, that things are not going to be as easy as she thinks, within moments of arrival, and over the next few days, Valor realises that she is going to have to change her plans pretty sharpish, if she is to succeed.
It’s also soon becomes clear there is much more to her sisters incarceration than it first seems. There is plenty of political intriege to unravel as well.
It’s here, where we get to see the best of Valor. Her love for her sister and determination to help her, really do shine through, as does the love for her new friends. She is a character you are really going to love.
Ruth Lauren does a ready great job of pulling you into her characters world, you’ll shiver along with them in their prison, and lose your breath as you are right along side, during the action scenes.
There’s plenty of scope for future stories to look forward too as well.
I was provided with my copy of Prisoner of Ice and Snow for review purposes as part of the blog tour. This has not affected my opinions.
