Contact Me & Review Policy

Visitors: Old and New

When you want to get in touch with me, just use the form below. I’d love to hear from you.Just a quick note though…I’m not the author of any of the books I review on this site, nor can I help you contact an author. The best way to do so, is via their publisher.

Review Policy

Your review, will always include a book cover image, a link to author website, a link to purchase your book (normally via: The Book Depository or Amazon), any preferred synopsis, author bio, and my personal thoughts about the book in each review. (if you would like a link to any other sources, Twitter, Facebook etc.) then just let me know and in most cases I’ll be more than happy to accommodate. My acceptance of a review copy does not guarantee that I will write a review. Bart’s Bookshelf, is my hobby – and while it’s most certainly a fun one, Contact Me & Review Policy I don’t even review every book I read simply for my own pleasure.

However, if you have been good enough to send me a book and I’ve finished it, then be assured I will get a timely review up and as close to any relevant publication schedules as I can manage.

Review Requests

In most cases I am not currently accepting general review requests, apart from:

  • If we have already established working relationship, i.e. I have accepted books from you (or your publisher) previously.
  • I have reviewed part of a series or authors works previously on the site.
  • I have indicated on my Twitter, this site or Facebook Page that I am looking forward to the book. *grins*
  • I am hosting you as part of an interview/guest post/blog tour.

Sorry for anybody that falls outside these options, but I have a backlog of review copies to work through at the moment. Once I have cleared some of it, I will open this up again.

I’m also more than happy to accept catalogues from authors and publishers (it may be worth your while taking the time to glance through my review archive which should give you some idea of the books I enjoy reading and therefore more likely to spend time reviewing).

A note about formats: While I do have a Kindle and am more than happy to accept e-galleys for review purposes, be aware  if your novel is published in e-book format only, then I will be less likely to accept a copy for review.

And apologies to self-publishers. I do realise how hard you are working to get your book out there and known, but I do not accept in any format any self-published/vanity press editions.

 Author Interviews/Guest Posts
I am always happy to consider authors for interviews or guest posts. If you have a book you feel would be a good fit for such a post here at Bart’s Bookshelf, then just let me know. I would love to hear from you!Author interviews and guest posts will always be featured heavily on my front page, where the latest five articles are shown in a repeating sideshow, ensuring that you receive on-going promotion way beyond the original posting date!

Again I’m sorry, but apologies to self-publishers. I do realise how hard you are working to get your book out there and known, but chances are, because I’m not going to get to read your book, I will be unlikely host a guest post etc. from yourself.

Please feel free to look at some of the guest posts and interviews I’ve hosted previously.

Other Notes

If you are wanting to send me a book for review, please be aware that I’m a UK based blogger, I know postage costs can be an issue so I thought it only right to make you aware of this up front. This blog regularly receives 11,000 – 14,000 visitors a month and all reviews/interviews/guest posts are also promoted on TwitterFacebook and FriendFeed.

Time constraints do mean I may not respond to each offer individually or as quickly as I would like, if you don’t hear back from me this time, it does not mean I may not be interested in alternative title in the future, so don’t hesitate to contact me again if you have one that you think I may be interested in.

And now all that is out of the way! Feel free to contact me if you are interested in working with me. I very much look forward to working with you.

Thanks!

Darren
