TSS: Booking a Bookish Break.

I received an email this last week that ended up with me booking a long weekend down to the capital in July.

To be fair I love visiting London and I’ve been looking for an excuse to book a trip back down since my last visit at the end of 2013. yalc-web-smallThat email  was from a publisher seeking out interest in a meet up prior to this years YALC, and there it was, my excuse!

I missed out on this bookish break last year due to a combination of timing and funds, and had to watch and read the reports from others, I can’t wait to be writing my own this year as well, as well as taking in the rest of the Film and Comic Con of course.

I suspect that I’ll be paying a call to a bookshop and comic shop or three when I’m down there as well. Past experience suggests I best start saving now! 😉

Is anybody else thinking about attending?

Reading wise for today, I’ve got no real plans I think I’ll definitely do sone Once Upon a Time IX reading by listening to a bit of Widdershins by Charles de Lint, when I nip out to do some food shopping this afternoon, and while making dinner.

Other than that, might make a start on my review copy of Me Being Me, is Exactly the Same as You Being You by Todd Hasak-Lowy as it is sitting next to me on the sofa; although I do have couple of reviews I’d like to write, if I can manage to make inspiration strike.

It was only a sounding out, so I’m not sure how organised it is yet.

I’ll probably go again this year, though it’s more likely to be for a day than the full weekend. Excited 😀

Yeah, I’m not sure how much time I will spend at YALC itself, but I’ve gone for the w/e ticket to give me a bit of leeway. And as I say, it’s also partly a ruse, just so I can have an excuse to visit London!
