Sunday Salon: of Potter and Mazes

Well I’ve not done a Sunday Salon for a few weeks so I thought I’d get one done today. And if all goes to plan it should be a fairly bookish packed day!

First off, as you may have guessed by the above image, I;m going to go see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1 this afternoon. I’ve usually made a point of seeing the movies on the day of release, but work (and general tiredness) conspired to make that not possible this time. But I definitely can’t let it’s first weekend slip by without watching it, and the cinema is literally at the bottom of my road so…

I’m also planning on catching up on a few reviews,  whilst listening to the last few few stories from Sum: Tales of the Afterlives, It’s been a great experience so far so looking forward to that.

And in between all that, I want to get a chunk of The Maze Runner by James Dashner read, I’m about 100 pages in and really liking it so far. I’d love to try and finish it, but with everything else I need to do, I don’t think that is going to be possible… Still going to have a go.

How’s your Sunday shaping up?

And how did you find it? I’m curious to know the opinion of other book bloggers!

It was pretty good. I think it’s difficult to say how good until I’ve watched part 2 as well. But yeah I did like it.

I went to the cinema yesterday as well to watch HP7. It was a great day.. didn’t get much reading done though, how about you? I’ve had The Maze Runner on my shelves since this summer and still haven’t gotten around to it 🙁

I’m taking the kids on Tuesday morning – when the public school kids should still (hopefully) be in class. One of the benefits of homeschooling is you can declare a day off for Harry Potter!

I recently read The Scorch Trials, the sequel to The Maze Runner – can’t wait for book 3!

Fabulous day. I’ll see the movie soon. I’m avoiding the crowds.

Sounds like a good day! Once you get back from the movie, I’ve got a question… where does it end? I’m re-listening to the book before I go see it (which probably won’t be until next weekend), and I while I don’t think I’m going to finish it in time, I want to be sure I’ve at least re-read the parts that are in the movie.

Oh, I already know that. (I spend too much time listening to the Pottercast & Mugglecast podcasts ;)) It ends when Voldemort takes possession of The Elder Wand from Dumbledore’s tomb. 😮

Okay, good to know. I had guessed it would end with Ron coming back and them getting the sword, which is about where I got to yesterday. Looks like I’ve got a bit more to listen to, then.

        Enjoy the movie!
