My Mini #YALC TBR Pile

With just 18 days to go. My reading and blogging thoughts are turning  towards YALC (Young Adult Literature Convention) at the end of the month.

I’ve talked about my initial planning for what I want to do. The panels I want to see, and the books I might take down with me to get signed. Also my favourite books from last year’s event. While I’ve got more than enough review books to read over the next few weeks. I like to make my life difficult because there are some books I’m going to try and read before YALC.

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

I can’t believe I’ve not read Rebel of the Sands yet! The Rebel stand at last year’s event almost always had people around it for the entire weekend, and the interest only built online from there! I bought a copy as soon as it came out and fully intended to read it straight away. For one reason or another, this hasn’t happened yet. I fully intend to change this!

Remix by Non Pratt

Remix, had only been out a few weeks at last YALC, and was definitely a popular choice over the weekend! While I didn’t pick up a copy during the weekend, I have had a copy for a few months now. Having heard such great thing about it, I really should use YALC as the push to finally read it!

Shiverton Hall: The Creeper by Emerald Fennell

I read the first Shiverton Hall book back in 2012 and loved it and the characters. When the sequel dropped through my letterbox a couple of years ago, I was really excited to read it, then it just kept slipping down the TBR pile. YALC is the perfect excuse to promote it back up to the top.

If I manage to read all three, I have a copy of V E Schwab’s: A Darker Shade of Magic on my Kindle that I might treat myself with to read on the train journey down to London. 😀

I personally found Rebel of the Sands to start a bit slow, but it was worth it if you stuck with. I am looking forward to book 2!
