IMM: The Post London Trip Edition

So, ahem, here goes…

Stuck Rubber Baby by Howard Cruse: You may have spotted a certain theme, to my book buying here. Mainly due to my visit to Forbidden Planet, which, when when you’re used to the small selection of graphic novels you get in my local bookstore, was a little bit mindblowing. 😀 I spotted this one and remembered Chris saying fantastic things about it, and home it came!  (Bad Bloggers point to Chris)

The Rabbits by Shaun Tan and John Marsden: Shaun Tan and John Marsden? ’nuff said! Well, apart from another Bad Blogger’s point for Chris, anyway!

Morning Glories by Spencer, Eisma & Esquejo: Spotted this one on one of the recommended shelves at Forbidden Planet, and it looks like a lot of fun, so I added it to the pile.

Exit Wounds by Rutu Modan: Whilst she found it a little ‘meh’ it was Eva that brought this one to my attention.

Daytripper by Fábio Moon & Gabriel Bá: This one looks really good, and came with a signed nameplate from Gosh Comics.

Cairo by  G Willow Wilson and M.K Perker: Another one I picked up at Gosh Comics, as I remembered Liz from My Favourite Books liking it. (Bad Bloggers point to Liz)

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness: Erm… Well… Yes… I know I got one of these last time as well, but, you see, I walked in to Foyles and they had signed copies! What, was I supposed to do? 😉

For Review:

Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld: I reviewed this one when it first came out in, but Simon and Schuster have kindly sent me a copy of the paperback edition (Due out 9th June), as I read an egalley version for my review it’s really nice to be able to see the artwork as well.

The Truth about Celia Frost by Paula Rawsthorne: Don’t know anything about this one, other than it sourds really good. Many thanks to Usborne for sending me an ARC.

Headline Goody Bag:

American Gods by Neil Gaiman: It’s the books tenth anniversary this year, which explains why this was in the goody bag 😉 I wasn’t all that keen when I tried to read it last time, I’ll give it another go though at some point though as so many people like it.

Scarlett Dedd by Cathy Brett: Cathy is a lovely lady who not only did a sketch of me during the meet-up, but also signed this one for me, it looks like so much fun to read as well. 😀

Pure by Julianna Baggot: As I mentioned in my previous post, the folks at Headline are really excited about this one for next year.

Crypt by Andrew Hammond: Not one of the books that were technically available during the event, but so pleased I managed to snag a copy, it’s going to be good I reckon.

Deadville by Ron Koertge: This one was on my bookmooch wishlist for so long that I can’t remember who is at fault for putting it there! Anyway it came up for mooch a little while back and arrived last week.
