Anticipating 2013

Yesterday I talked about my favourite books of the last year, today I’m going to talk about some of the books I’m looking forward to most in 2013.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

As if this wasn’t going to be on here!

The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness

The Crane Wife  (& More Than This) by Patrick Ness

The new novel for adults by Patrick Ness sounds just fantastic, and later in the year we get a new YA novel from him as well. We only know the title so far, but I’m definitely looking to finding out more nearer the time.

Department 19 Battle Lines by Will Hill

Department 19 #3 – Battle Lines by Will Hill

One of my favourite YA series of the last year or so, the brilliant Department 19 continues in Battle Lines. Can’t wait!

Inhuman by Kat Falls

Inhuman by Kat Falls

I really enjoyed Dark Falls and Rip Tide by Kat Falls both had great characters and a lot of fun to read, which gives me a lot of hope for Inhuman.

The Madness Underneath by Maureen JohnsonThe Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson.

The Name of the Star was a brilliantly spooky read, from what I’ve seen about this one, Maureen Johnson is just as evil as her bad guys…
The Prey by Andrew Fukuda

The Hunt was a entertaining & fresh take on the vampire genre, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that revelation at the end of the first book plays out in The Prey.

The B Team by John Scalzi

New Old Man’s War? ‘Nuff said!

The B-Team is the opening episode of The Human Division, a thirteen-episode novel in the world of his bestselling Old Man’s War.

Well those are the books I’m looking forward to, which books are of your wishlists for 2013?
