Well, I’m guessing if you are here, you’re wanting to know something about me, so here goes!

My name is actually Darren, the nick name of Bart, stems from a hairstyle I once had, which looking at the photo on the left you now would now probably never believe…

I’m in my mid-thirties and have nearly always been a big reader, even as a young kid (one of the first books I can remember was The Town and the Country Mouse, a book who’s story I knew so well at one point, that during a bring-and-read at school, I actually told the teacher off for reading it wrong!)

Bart’s Bookshelf, developed out of my original blog, when after a few years of really not reading as much as I would have liked, I decided it was time to do something about it and force myself to get back in to the habit of reading, by setting myself some targets and reviewing what I read.

Little did I know, what would happen once I discovered reading challenges, and the fantastic book blogging community! Even though I am now reading more than ever, I still can’t out-strip the ever growing TBR pile!

And you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way!
