I’ve a good year for fantastic books so far in 2016. A fair few of these were by authors that were new to me, therefore this list came together quite quickly!
I’ve listened or read 3 books by Fran Wilde this year, Updraft and Cloudbound, both of which I intend to review in the next week or so, and her novella The Jewel and her Lapidary. All of which are well worth your time. Cloudbound is one of those rare sequels I enjoyed even more than the first book!
Katherine’s debut was every bit as good as I hoped it would. Wing is one of my favourite characters I’ve met this year.
The Sign of One had me gripped and I tore though it on the way down to UKYACX earliernthis year!
Yeah. I know. I should have read Holly (and Am I Normal Yet?) Aggggees ago, but I have now ok! Incidently the audiobook’s narrator is perfect!
Paedar Ó Gullín
My god, The Call had me gripped and terrified in equel measure!
Rebel of the Sands is a fantastic world with an amazing main character.
If you’ve heard great things about A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, then every one of them is correct!
Down Station suprised me really, it was a bit of a random pick to use up an Audible credit, mostly chosen for the cover (and yes the synopsis but I really ended up enjoying it.
Grief is the Thing With Feathers is a really beutifully told story.
As I said just after I first finished The Girl From Everywhere. Sometimes its the story. Sometimes it’s the characters. And sometimes, like with this one, it’s the feeling you get when reading it.
