It’s #Readathon Time! – Hour 22 The Final Stretch

24hr Readathon

The #readathon has been part of my reading and blogging life since all the way back in 2008! I’ve not always been able to fully take part, but I’ve always tried to at least pop in for a little while at least.

Today though, I’m taking part almost fully, I say almost, because I am going out later this evening to meet up with some friends for a few hours. But I pretty much have the rest of the day free, and I have cheated slightly and started a few hours early, to make up for hours I won’t be about later…. So I’ve actually finished my first book already (Jessica’s Ghost by Andrew Norris) which was bloody fantastic and I can’t wait to review it, in the next week or so.

Posting wise, I’ll most likely do what I’ve done previously and only post three of four times during the day, and just update each post every hour or so.

I will be hosting the hour three mini-challenge, so do make sure you pop back to take part! You can catch a hint over (link fixed) on my Facebook page.

I know that just my taking part, we will do anyway, but let’s do Dewey proud!

Hour 0

Opening Meme:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
From the very fine county of Yorkshire in the UK.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
Erm… I’ve already read it…

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
This
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I spend far too much on records!

The #rsd15 haul 🙂

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
Not sure I’ll do anything different I always try to take the day as it comes.

Hour 6

Well didn’t get much (any) reading done in the last few hours as it was all about managing my mini-challenge which had many more entries than I was really expecting! 🙂 (Many thanks to all those that did take part).

I have a vote open at the moment where your can choose your favourite on the ones I picked out.

  • Books finished: Jessica’s Ghost by Andrew Norris |
  • Total Pages Read: 342
  • Current Book: It’s About Love by Steven Camden
  • Mini Challenges Completed: Opening Meme | Picture it

Here’s my entry for Xicanti’s mini challenge. To find a picture (other than of the book) that best represents your current read. I’m still a little early on in my current read (It’s About Love by Steven Camden), to really know where it is going, but the main character is still a little stand-offish at the moment, so I thought this picture captured that feeling quite well.

Still no further reading done, as I have been out with friends. not much likelihood of any in the net few hours as I am going to catch some kip, but I hope to be back for the last 3-4 hours refreshed and raring to go!

But first the voting has closed so I have the winner of my mini-challenge to announce, and the first place with 20% of the vote was number 14! Congratulations to isiorejas (instagram). I’ll be in touch tomorrow at some point regarding your prize!

Irene from Team Mr. Popper here. I hope you’re enjoying the readathon so far. Please remember that it’s all about having fun, so if you feel more like snacking than reading, then go ahead. This event is the perfect excuse for snacking!
I’m sure you’ll reach your goal. You can do this!

Smart idea, starting early! The start time where I live is 7 a.m. and it’s hard for me to be up that early on a Saturday. I hope you have a great Readathon!
