I almost missed Bart’s Bookshelf blogiversary this year, but thankfully I was catching up on posts in my Google Reader yesterday when I came across Carl’s post about his blog’s birthday. I’m a couple of years his impressive eight (well at least as the Bart’s Bookshelf incarnation anyway) but was still quite a surprise to realise I’d made it to 5th year as a book blogger! :0
The start of this blog doesn’t really have a fixed ‘start’ date, as I’d blogged for a few years before calling it a day, and then a few days later changing my mind and decided to keep going and focus on books. So you’ll see reviews going back to 2004 if you check out the depths of my archives. And I actually, registered the domain, uploaded WordPress, and made the first post on the 7th Jan 2008.
But I count my first review as Bart’s Bookshelf as the ‘official’ birthdate of the blog and that was a review of Roasted by Andy Riley (who you may know better as the creator of the brilliant, Bunny Suicides.)
Little did I know back then, what I was letting myself in for!
It’s been a fantastic five years, and book blogging has been one of the most fun online communities I’ve ever been involved in. So thank you to all my visitors and friends I’ve made, for stopping to take a look at my often, incoherent & rambling reviews!
Roll on Year 5!
