So, towards the end of last week I headed off to Spain for a few days, with my brother and some friends. Whilst the weather wasn’t terrific, we did manage to take a break from the cerveza, and headed to Port Aventura, for the day.
It must be getting on for ten years since I was last there, but the rides were just as good as I remembered. Although the Dragon Khan (the red rails), which I remember as being a massive coaster (which it still is, to be honest) is now towered over by the Shambhala, Port Aventura’s new ride for the year. It’s the tallest drop inEurope, and when you waiting to ride it, I can tell you it looks even taller.
An amazing ride.

Wow. That’s some ride. I’m not good on roller coasters and that sort of thing–although my son’s Boy Scout buddies did talk me into getting onto “The Voyage” here in southern Indiana a couple of years ago when the Troop visited a local Theme Park.
Here’s my Snapshot.
Love the sky in that first photo.
That looks terrifying – so not my thing! I’m glad you had a good time though.
I’m not sure about the ride, I don’t do rides, but it’s a great shot.
That looks amazing – I love the way you’ve shown all that twisting metal against the sky. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/ksE6O
Wow! Love the top photo in particular. I am NOT a rides person . . . except for roller coaster. I really like them.
I never take well to roller coasters, so I definitely couldn’t ride that…but it makes a great modern art sculpture!
I love a good rollercoaster – now I have another good reason to get myself to Spain again one day soon!
Ooh that looks a bit terrifying.
