Today is the second day of Book Blogger Appreciation Week! The annual celebration of the book blogging community.
If you’ve been around for previous BBAWs you’ll know that each day there is a “Daily Blogging Topic” for every one to post about. Today’s is:
What does Book Blogging mean to you?
Fun & Procrastination Avoidance.
More than anything I blog because it is fun. I love tinkering around in the technical end of things; trying plugins, tweaking the design, even updating WordPress!
But of course I also, love reading. I started book blogging originally, to give myself a sense of commitment to get on and read the next book, instead of just thinking about it. (I’d been in a reading slump for a few years). It didn’t take me long to climb out of that slump, but for me blogging still helps me stop procrastinating.
And then I found the book blogging world… And my reading world (and RSS reader!) exploded. I found books and authors I’d never have known about, never mind tried. And of course made some great online friends to share the fun and be nerdy with!

Online friends! That’s my favorite part.
Being nerdy with other book lovers is my favorite part of book blogging
I love this community!
The Relentless Reader
Simply put…blogging is all about the community and the wonderful bloggers who make it happen. Stop by to see my post if you like.
Have a fun day.
I see you are reading SHADOW OF THE WIND. That is one of my all-time favorite books. ENJOY!!!

I also love what blogging has done for my reading life. It definitely helped pull me out of my years-long reading slump as well, and while it may not have killed my procrastination tendencies, it did displace them elsewhere.
I’m glad that it means fun to you! SO often it can feel like work and there can be lots of pressure and it shouldn’t be like that.. it should be more fun because this is something we enjoy doing
I always thought I read a lot, but I didn’t compared to how much I read now! It definitely makes a difference.
Yep, all the book nerds are the best part of book blogging! It’s as if I’ve met MY people! lol
The book blogging community is a better place because you are in it!
