Top Ten: Thursday Next Characters

Well I’ve not done one of these for a while (over two years actually!) but I had a lot of fun with them back then, so I thought it was time to have another go. Top Ten: Thursday Next Characters  Especially with the seventh Thursday Next novel (The Woman Who Died a Lot) just released here in the UK. (Not to mention I’m off to meet Jasper on Wednesday in Leeds.)

So, here goes, my ten favourite characters in the Thursday Next Series by Jasper Fforde:

  1. Thursday Next (The actual Thursday Next, rather than any of the written ones… There… That should nicely confuse anybody who’s not read the series! Top Ten: Thursday Next Characters )

  2. Pickwick (Plock!)

  3. Mycroft Next

  4. The Unitary Authority of Warrington Cat (aka The Cheshire Cat)

  5. Mrs Haversam

  6. Friday Next (Loved his Lorem Ipsum speak as a baby and then his grunting teenager-ness in First Among Sequels.)

  7. Hamlet

  8. Millon de Floss

  9. The Written Pickwick (She’s a bit of a diva! Top Ten: Thursday Next Characters )

  10. Jack Schitt & Brik Schitt-Hawse

    I would have to boot Jack Schitt and family for Colonel Next, Thursday’s dad. He’s confusing and fantastic! And I love Granny Next too but I’m not quite sure if she’s already on your lists or not. ;) Too bad we don’t get the new novel in the states until October 2.
