Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home with Books

For today’s Saturday Snapshot I’ve chosen one, I’ve just taken in the last few minutes. I called in to the local HMV on the way home from work, to see if they had the second series of Avatar: The Last Airbender. As it happens they didn’t. But I did spot this box set of Springsteen’s early albums, on offer for just £16 for seven albums. Bargain!

Good deal!
Here’s my Snapshot.
Is Springsteen popular there? When we lived in France, I heard “Born in the USA” playing over the sound system in the metro one time and it was a rather strange feeling.
Pretty big yeah. He’s just played a load of big stadium gigs last month (my brother and nephew went *jealous*) and he headlined one of the big festivals as well.
That IS a bargain! Nice picture!
Thanks. I suspect my Last.FM profile might be featuring a lot of The Boss for a while!
I always think it’s interesting to take a simple, everyday object, and turn it into a photograph like this. I tends to look at buildings and landscapes, and forget about things that might be near at hand, but maybe I’ll try looking at them in a different way.My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qCafm
I do like to try and take a picture of something from a different angle if I can.
Ah, good ole Bruce! Nice to see him a hit over on that side of the world
And are those LPs?
No. They’re CDs. They’d sound great on LP though. Have to try and convince the Record Club I occasionally attend to play one of them, if someone has a copy.
Guess you’ll be getting a major dose of The Boss … that is a good deal! My fave Springsteen song … ‘Thunder Road’ … gets me every time.
Just a bit!
Thunder Road is good, but I think my favourite is ‘Streets of Philadelphia’. Bit late for this collection though!
He is hugely popular in India. I own many of his albums. In cassette and LP forms. No CDs though!
It’s funny really. Bruce is always someone whose music I’ve liked. But I’ve only really started ‘listening’ to him year or two, so I’ve got everything on CD or MP3.
I was on a boat with some Dutch tourists yesterday and was really surprised when they starting singing along with Dancing in the Dark. Nice pic btw.
Must have been entertaining!
(and thanks!)
I’ve never been a huge fan of his music, not that I dislike it but can take it or leave it. Getting a good deal is always awesome though.
As I was saying to Gautami, it’s only in the last year so so that I’ve really listened to him.
That does look like a bargain. Enjoy listening to them.
Been having a bit of a marathon listening to him last night and today! Just over 5.5 hours of music!
Or about the length of one of his gigs…
Until somebody shuts off the power anyway.
What a great find! Enjoy!
