Come rest awhile

When I was down in London the other week, when I came across an installation along the southbank, where they had installed a temporary beech and all the paraphernalia, you’d expect to find at a traditional British seaside: beach-huts, deck-chairs and the like.
I took this one right outside Foyles bookshop. A perfect spot to stop and peruse your purchases! (Apart from the fact I’d been good in this particular Foyles and not bought anything, and was heading to go grab lunch)
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

Wow, I can think of a number of shops that I wished would have something like this! Thanks for sharing.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
So could I.
But I think a book shop by a river is nearly as good a spot as you could hope for!
Ha! A seaside retreat right there in the middle of the city. What fun.
Here’s mine: http://desktopretreat.blogspot.com/2011/06/saturday-snapshot_11.html
Yeah, it certainly brought a grin to my face.
Love the perspective of this shot. How fun to come across an outdoor installation.
It was a gorgeous day as well, so it was a perfect thing to come across.
Lovely shot! I too love the perspective.
Thanks. I was actually using the back as a spot to steady myself for a different shot altogether, and happened to look down and thought it’d make a cracking shot. I’m pleased with how it came out.
It almost looks like a big slippery dip of a chair. Inviting us to slide and sit at the same time.
What a great shot.
Thank you!
Ahhh, my kind of chair. Now all it needs is a book and an ice tea.
Sounds perfect. I’m just glad I didn’t have to put it up!
I love the idea of a fake beach! I’m impressed that you didn’t buy anything at the bookstore – I think that takes an iron will.
Well, that and I’d spent a load in a different branch of Foyles (and Forbidden Planet) the day before!
Wonderful photo! I love the colors and the clean lines. And, it looks like London is sunny (my brother lives there) while southern California is drippy wet.
It was a really nice day!
Hi!
Looks like a really comfy spot to read a book. Too bad you didn’t buy any that day. Have a great day!

Wow, the colors are just gorgeous! I can’t believe you didn’t buy anything in Foyle’s. You are so good. They are book heaven. I think I bought something every time I went into Foyle’s, last year, but I was on vacation so . . . (excuses, excuses).
