So, after my lack of self-control last weekend, this week at least, I can lay the blame elsewhere! 
Two parcels arrived from mysterious benefactors this week, that’s right my Book Lovers Secret Santa and Book Blogger Holiday Swap gifts arrived.
First to arrive were The Kingdom beyond the Waves by Stephen Hunt and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon. I don’t think either of these two were on any of the wishlists I submitted, but Tara from Book Sexy Review who sent them along, did a fabulous job of reading between the lines and picking out two great books for me, thanks Tara!
And then yesterday, another parcel arrived containing Douglas Coupland’s latest Player One which I’m looking forward to just because it’s a Coupland and Marcus Zusak’s I am the Messenger, which I’ve heard some really really good things about recently. Thanks to Angela for sending these along.

I’m not a hundred percent sure, but the Hunt book was sent with the intention and belief that it is steampunk.
Well, I’d not heard of it before, but from what I’ve looked at since, it’s definitely steampunk!

Oh, excellent books! K&C is just wonderful, and I Am The Messenger is almost as good as The Book Thief (which is high, high praise). I hope you enjoy them!
