Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives by David Eagleman (Audiobook)

In the afterlife you may find that God is the size of a microbe and unaware of your existence. Or you may find the afterlife contains only those people whom you remember. What happens to us when we die? And what does that tell us about being human? This title includes imagined tales that offer us a lens through which to see ourselves here.

This one was my Audible download this month, with narrators including: Gillian Anderson, Nick Cave, Stephen Fry among others, how could I resist?!

I was aware of the book beforehand, but it was this review from Alyce that put it firmly on my wishlist, so a Bad Bloggers point to Alyce.

Dash & Dilly’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

“I’ve left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page. If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

Been looking forward to this one for months ever since I spotted it was due out! I really enjoyed Nick and Norah, but not so much, Naomi and Ely. This one looks like it might be a return to characters I like, as much as the story. IMM: 07 11 10

The Night Bookmobile by Audrey Niffenegger

Tells the story of a young woman who one night encounters a mysterious disappearing mobile library that happens to stock every book she has ever read.

A graphic novel by Niffenegger? Do I need an excuse? IMM: 07 11 10

A Bridge to the Stars by Henning Mankell

12 year old Joel lives with his father in the cold northern part of Sweden. At night he often sneaks out of his father’s house to look for a lonely dog he has seen from his window. On the bridge across the icy river he starts a secret society and has adventures. But one night he discovers that his father’s bed is also empty and will have to come terms with his fathers new found love.

Heard nothing but good things about this book from younger-readers from the author of the Inspector Wallander series.

Spotted this one in my local Oxfam and couldn’t resist.
