Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater Audiobook Narrated by David LeDoux & Jenna LamiaThis one’s been sitting in my drafts folder for ages, so I thought I better get around to it. Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater Audiobook Narrated by David LeDoux & Jenna Lamia It’s not that I didn’t enjoy it, because as I’m listening to Linger whilst I write this…

As I’m sure most people know about this one by now, so I’m going to be lazy and use the publishers synopsis, so feel free to skip the italics to get to my thoughts!

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf – her wolf – is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without.

Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives. In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human – or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Well I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Both Sam and Grace were interesting, likeable narrators. And (I don’t mean this next bit to sound like damning with faint praise) but it was a pleasant experience seeing their story unfold.

The mythology of the wolves, was also intriguing and felt well-developed, and seemed like it existed for more that just Grace and Sam’s story, which is not something you always get with this time of novel.

So, yeah, can’t say loved the story, but I definitely enjoyed it enough to be listening to the sequel. Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater Audiobook Narrated by David LeDoux & Jenna Lamia Talking of listening… The narration by David LeDoux & Jenna Lamia works really well, Jenna Lamia’s a little more so than David LeDoux’s, but for the most part, the voices matched the words being spoken.

I think that novels that switch between narrators and/or are told in first person work exceptionally well as audiobooks and that is definitely the case here.

I’ll try to get my review of Linger up with a great speed than this one!
