Weekly Geeks 2009 #42: Bookish Podcasts
This weeks Weekly Geeks is asking us to look at our favourite bookish podcasts.
Dewey worded it this way, "find and review a link to a book podcast." I’m modifying this just a bit and am asking you to share with us a podcast you love, preferably book related, but not necessarily so. Give us the link, of course, and share with us details about that podcast and why you enjoy it so much. If you have a couple or three favourites, share them all!
I have a few podcasts I listen to regularly, some of them from my days in the Harry Potter fandom, some of which I’ve found elsewhere, here is a selection.
| Pottercast Podcast of The Leaky Cauldron, one of the largest sources of Potter related news on the web, understandably with the end of the series, there isn’t as much Potter related news as there once was, but this is still one of the most fun podcasts out there. |

Mugglecast Another Harry Potter podcast, this time from the folks behind Mugglenet. |
|
Imprint From, some of the team that brings us Mugglecast, Imprint is a podcast centred around the Twilight fandom. |
|
Bookslam The only general bookish podcast I listen to is Bookslam, podcast of London’s first/ best/ only literary nightclub. Living at the other end of the country I can’t make it to one of there events, listening to one of there eclectic podcasts is the next best thing! |
Have you listened to any of the above? What did you think? Tell everyone about your favourite podcasts over at the Weekly Geeks Blog.

I’m more of a generalist so not really into the specific casts but I will check out the Bookslam one. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the pointers
Ai, sorry: I am not a Potter fan! I couldn’t be, since I am one of the 5 remaining book lovers that have not read Harry Potter, nor seen the movies
The Book Slam, is that about literary debutantes? Writers that haven’t published yet?
Thanks for sharing! What would we do without podcasts?
Literary nightclub? I’ve never heard of this concept, but it sounds interesting! Do people dress up in their hottest outfits and come read by the fire, sneaking glances over the tops of their books every now and then? “Miss, this bookmark is courtesy of the gentleman behind Wuthering Heights. He says he hopes your enjoying your current read, but if not, he’d love for you to come over and share your thoughts on Heathcliff.”
I’m just now getting around to reading this post … sorry! I have never heard of ANY of these podcasts but I’m very intrigued – off to check them out now. Thanks!
Not a problem, hope you find something you like!
