Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins [Review]

After winning the Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen might have hoped for a quieter life, but you don’t defy the Capitol never mind as publicly as she and Peeta Mellark did and get away with it.

At first she thinks she might just have to do as she is told, but when Katniss learns of possible rebellions around the various districts, she knows that the Captiol will exact their revenge.

Being forced to go on a Victory Tour around the districts and convincing the world that she and Peeta are still madly in love with each other is only the start.

Even then, success still might not be enough to avoid the horrifying revenge President Snow has in store for them.

And that paraphrasing of the book’s synopsis is all the story information you are getting from me! 😉 You are going to have to read this one to know more.

Is it as good as The Hunger Games? Well…

My Thoughts

I. Want. Book Three. Now.

I just picked this one up from my library, and I positively can’t wait to read it. I’ve just started, so I’m not far enough along to comment, but I hope I like it as much a the first novel.

I’m one of those people disappointed by the book. That’s not to say I disliked it, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. My review is here:

I want book three too!!! That cliffhanger of an ending was even worse than book one!! I loved this one though. I’ve seen some people say that they didn’t like this book at all and I just don’t get it :/

I am more impatient for book 3 than I was for book 2… One day I might review books 1 and 2, though, because I haven’t reviewed either yet.

I’m with you–this review and its comments remind me of my reaction to people who review the Harry Potter movies–it all seems like quibbling to try to differentiate between the different movies. Maybe the second or third wasn’t quite as good as the first, but so what–just bring on the next one!
