Sunday Salon: The End of the Seven Day Sunday

Sunday SalonWell, last sunday, I was looking forward to a lazy week of reading, blogging and slobbing on the sofa. Well one out of three isn’t bad! :D

I’m doing myself a bit of an injustice though, I have got some reading and blogging in, just not quite as much as I was planning to.

A good part of the first part of the week was re-watching the first five Harry Potter films, in readiness for going to see Half Blood Prince on the Wednesday. Overall I was very happy with the movie, and while yes there were some changes, I think it’s probably the best one so far in capturing the spirit and story of the book.

My only grumble is I’m not sure how Harry is going to work out what the other Horcruxs are. There was no mention of them being former founders objects, nor Nagini being one. Still that’s a worry for movies 7 & 8. This one was well worth going to see.

I did manage to finish, a couple of books, One Day by David Nicholls and Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix, click on the links to check out my thoughts on them. Today, I need to spend a little time reading A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby, which I’m reading along with Kailana, so you can look forward to a joint review at some point. :D

You had a great week! I’ve been wanting to re-read the series over again but haven’t had the time. Have a good week and happy reading.

What a great idea, watching all the HP movies. I won’t have time to do that as I hope to see “The Half-Blood Prince” this afternoon! Have a good week..

  3. Oooh, a joint review. I look forward to seeing that. A Long Way Down is the only Hornby I’ve read. As for Harry Potter, I may be the last person on Earth who hasn’t read all of them, but I haven’t so when you say Horcruxs and Nangini, I just go, “Huh?” Of course, the books are on my TBR list, but right now I’m reading Agatha Christie and Michael Connelly so will have to wait for a bit, and then I have Alexander McCall Smith’s No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series after that…and then….well, you get the idea. ;)

Don’t worry. Kailana has a bad habit of hardly reading on her days off, so she has very much slacked in reading Hornby. Must get some of it read myself!

Glad you enjoyed your time off. :)
