The Manchester Book Market

bookmarketIt’s probably not a good idea considering the state of my TBR pile but when I saw that, The Manchester Book Market was taking place a sort train ride away from where I live, and actually coincides with one of my few weekends off, I didn’t think I’d be able to resist, and it’s looking likely I wont ;)

Featuring over 20 publishers, the market will cover a wide range of genres and interests, from award-winning poetry and short fiction (from Route Publishing, Crocus Books and Comma) to internationally recognised science fiction and fantasy (from Interzone, TTA and Ballista), as well as childrens books (Bumble Books, DEP, Flapjack), and pioneering new literary magazines (Transmission, Bewilderbliss, Back to the Machine Gun, etc.).

And with an onsite cafe, featuring authors, poets and readings thoughout the day, I’m finding less and less reasons to stop me from going!

Look for photos and a more than possibly embarrassing Mailbox Monday post next week! ;)

Yeah, unfortunately life has conspired to mean that I couldn’t make it across :( Which is probably a good thing for the old TBR shelf! :)
