Announcing the Second Annual Book Blogger Appreciation Week September 14-18, 2009

Yesterday, Amy from the My Friend Amy book blog, announced the launch of the Second Annual Book Blogger Appreciation Week.

What is the Book Blogger Appreciation Week? Well this is what the site has to say:

Book Blogger Appreciation was started by Amy Riley of My Friend Amy in an effort to recognize the hard work and contribution of book bloggers to the promotion and preservation of a literate culture actively engaged in discussing books, authors, and a lifestyle of reading.

The first Book Blogger Appreciation was observed in the fall of 2008 and occurs every September. The week spotlights and celebrates the work of active book bloggers through guest posts, awards, giveaways, and community activities. Book Bloggers are encouraged to register their participation for inclusion in a database of book bloggers.

I was just finding my feet as a book blogger this time last year, and this was a fantastic event, that really gelled the community and of course I discovered many a new blog to read become addicted to, from it

You don’t have to have a blog yourself, anyone and everyone can go nominate their favourite blogs or even blog posts from the last year.
