Read-a-Thon Mini-Challenge – Cover Quiz!
Welcome Read-a-Thoners to my Mini Challenge! Hope your reading is going great, we’re still early on so you should be full of energy! But that is no reason why you should not take a quick break to pace yourself and spend a few minutes taking part in a fun quiz!
Below the cut (for those reading on the front page) is a series of 24 cropped thumbnails of well known (and some not-so well known book covers.) Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to name as many of books and their authors as you can! (So marks will be out of 48)
Just drop your answers into the comment form and hit submit, it is as easy as that!
There are prizes on offer for whoever correctly guesses the most as well as some runners up. (Should there me more than one winner random.org will select who gets the prizes)
ETA: The winner will be able to choose two books from the official list of prizes!
All comments during the mini-challenge period will go into moderation, so a) don’t worry if it does not show on the site and b) everyone has the same chance, whenever they stop by to visit!
Just remember, have fun and don’t get too caught up that annoying cover that you just know what it is, but can’t pull the name out of your head for, wouldn’t want tokeep you from your reading for too long you know!
The challenge will run from 3pm to 5pm GMT (which *should* be – I’m told
– 7am to 9am PST)

Oh dear. I don’t recognize a single cover. Could these be British book covers? I’m an American.
Let me take one more look…Oh yes, there’s Ender’s Game….and let me take a wild guess and say that the cover with the pig and the pipe is Animal Farm…or could it be a Churchhill biography?!
I’m hopeless with this!
Happy reading, everyone!

Oh I hardly know any of these, rats! My guesses: for the first square, perhaps Around the World in 80 Days? That’s probably wrong. The second, one of those Erogon books? 13th is The Tales of Beedle the Bard, right? 20 is Eclipse, I think, and 22 is one of the Persepolis books. I’m so bad at this!

Kristi´s last blog post: Readathon – Mini-challenge 1
Ooooh! That may well be the coolest idea for a challenge I’ve seen! (I can only put a name to two of the covers, and think I recognise another, but no titles are forthcoming.)
Oh my, I don’t think I can make it. I’ve found four (I think), mostly obvious, and I’ve already spent enough time here as is, I want to put up a post, check a few reader blogs, and go back reading. So here’s my try:
Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes
Stephenie Meyer, Eclipse
Stieg Larsson, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Christopher Paolini, Eragon
Thanks for the challenge, anyway, it was fun!

This is a great challenge but I think I have spent too long on it now and need to get back to reading. I count my score as a pathetic 24 points and there are at least five more that I *know* I own or have read but I just can’t place them at this moment – I’m sure I will kick myself when the answers are released!
1. Illustration by Edward Ardizzone – bonus point?
2. Eragon – Christopher Paolini; 4. Old Man’s War – John Scalzi; 5. Slam – Nick Hornby; 6. Mister Pip – Lloyd Jones; 10. Fast Food Nation – Eric Schlosser; 11.
