Read-a-Thon Reads: Vlog Edition
Baaaaa!
Okay, everyone else is doing a vlog so all my excuses not to, have gone out of the window! – come on! Nymeth you know you want to!
so here is my first attempt at vlogging in which I talk about by Read-a-Thon pile of books. And it feels oh-so-weird doing this, but here you go:
And yes, I know I spelled Dewey’s name wrong on the titles, but I had such a fight getting the thing to upload in the first place and I didn’t notice until I had, I just didn’t have the patience to try again.

There is no way I’m going to vlog, but I think you are all so brave to do it!! Besides, you have a great accent!!
Stephanie´s last blog post: A "Wicked" Faerie Tale
I love your accent
But sorry, me doing a vlog = not happening. I am a complete wuss
I have bad news about The Merlin Conspiracy: It’s actually the sequel to Deep Secret. I had no idea either, so I mooched it a while ago…but then Darla D told me, and she doesn’t recommend reading it before the first book. So yeah…let’s see who manages to mooch a copy of Deep Secret first

It’s the Speaker for the Dead bookmooch battle II
Oh yes–Nymeth–do a vlog, do a vlog, do a vlog! Such a funny word–hadn’t even heard it until the other day.

you’re all cute!
and really, that’s A LOT of reading!
I love hearing your accent! The read-a-thon is going to be so much fun! Can’t wait.

I love watching these vlogs and yours is no exception!! Great work. I had to chuckle when you tossed all your books on the floor after talking about them, the first one had the highest to land (or was the loudest)!
You have totally convinced me to do a read-a-thon books I am reading post!! Thanks for your inspiration
I’ll make sure I keep track of you during the read-a-thon, maybe get a loud GONG! sound to wake you when it is very late.

I hadn’t realised I was tossing them! LOL Caught red-handed and I didn’t even know it! LOL
Your vlog was excellent, and you were only partially upstaged by your cat!
Loved it! I especially love seeing your bookshelf in the background.
I wish I could do that, but my bookcases are in my bedroom, which gets no natural light, and I think it’d be kind of awkward to do a vlog from my bed in low light, lol.
And Nymeth, we’re definitely all going to gang up on you until you break down and do a vlog! Come on: we’ve all done it, it can’t be too bad. :p
Eva´s last blog post: Library Loot: April 15-21, 2009 (and Eva’s first foray in vlogging!)
Thanks Eva, it seemed the best spot to do it. (apart from the noise the books made as I dropped them on my laminate floor…)
I’m not sure we’ll get Nymeth to weaken, you know…
But we can always try!
Darren! This was fantastic! I love your accent
I used to pretend to have a British accent when I was kid in supermarkets and people would look at me like I was nuts :p All of my ancestry is British, so I’ve always admired them! My dream to go there one day…
Fantastic pile of books! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them. I really must read some Sedgwick. I’ll have to keep that in mind next time I’m book shopping
Nymeth, you totally have to do a Vlog! lol…We’ll just keep harassing you until you do :p I can’t wait to see the battle for the Wynne-Jones book between you two! Those are just great :p I’ll follow along on Bookmooch
Chris´s last blog post: Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
You must read some Sedgwick, The Book of Dead Days or My Swordhand is Singing would both be excellent starts.
I’ve chickened out of the bookmooch battle, The Book Depository had in on for less than a £5 delivered so I bought it.
Yes the accent–lovely! My sister lived abroad for several months and people kept telling her how dull the American accent is.
It is great to meet you, and I understand how weird it feels. I’ve only done one video (back in November), but I’ll be doing another one or two on Saturday.
Enjoy the reading–I’m envious of Plain Janes. I think I’ll be reading Fun Home, but I’m concerned that the graphics will slow me down (so much to look at!).
Trish´s last blog post: Non-Fiction Five Challenge Sign Ups
Really? I’ve always found that Graphic Novels are an excellent read during a Read-a-thon and usually quite quick too. (I loved Hugo Cabret, during my first Read-a-Thon last spring.)
Okay, apparently I need to get a copy of Deep Secret… Although, maybe I have already…
Anyway, so for the deaf people, who was the author of Knife? I heard fairies, but I missed who wrote it.
I am really enjoying the vlogs, but I will never do one myself! People are so brave, but I am not one of them!
Oh, The Plain Janes is really good! I read it last weekend… I’m not really sure I knew what it was about going in, so I was impressed.
Happy Reading!

*Ahem* Oops?
Knife is by R J Anderson.
Thanks! I am going to go look it up, that’s why I asked.
Kailana´s last blog post: A Bookish Day!
Me again! I guess it was called Knife here… *ahem* Anyway, sorry to make you repeat yourself. lol What I came back to say is that it sounds good, so I look forward to your review so I can decide if I want to buy or not.
Kailana´s last blog post: A Bookish Day!
I loved seeing and hearing you! And I’m so disappointed that I’m not able to do the ReadAThon … but I WILL be attending a book festival that day, so that sort of makes up for it.
A book festival eh? I don’t know whether to be jealous or not!
Good to hear an proper English accent on one of these, there are some Englisg ppl in the blogging world

A great selection of books, I kept trying to see what you had on your shelf the whole time as well, book snooping, I love it!

Hi, I’m more of a lurker, but I wanted to say hi, and nice vlog! I am not brave enough to do one now, but maybe at 2 am Sunday morning I might be willing.

Love your vlog!! I wasn’t brave enough to do video, but I did attempt an audio chat. Might try vlogs in the future, though.

Hi Bart,
Just found your fab blog – it’s great. Well done on the Vlog, very brave. I’m new to blogging having only just started my own this week, maybe someday I may have an impressive one like yourself. I shall be a regular reader now. Enjoy the read-a-thon, Mel
Accent love. So, so much accent love… (The biggest problem for me with speech/voice is that I tend to get lost in the accents. I’ve managed to miss 90% of a whole course once because I was too distracted by the accent.)
Uhm, random information posted and done with… I still haven’t got around to reading The Merlin Conspiracy, but I hope you’ll enjoy it! DWJ has been one of my favourite authors since I was introduced to her work. And Knife has what may well be the most interesting cover I’ve seen in a very long time. And it’s about fairies! Now I just need to look it up further… ^-~
Sounds like a good pile of books for the Read-a-Thon! And it’s getting close to the kick-off from the looks of it, so… (I’ll just claim I planned leaving a reply to this post so late, shall I? ^-~) Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy the books you manage to read for the Read-a-Thon!
