One Book Meme

Nicked from Eva.

One book you’re currently reading: The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi
One book that changed your life: Famous Five On a Treasure Island by Enid Blyton (it was the first book I bought with my own money & choice. The launch of a wonderful habit!)
One book you’d want on a deserted island: Harry Potter Volumes 1-7 by JK Rowling
One book you’ve read more than once: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde
One book you’ve never been able to finish: Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
One book that made you laugh: The Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy (in five parts) by Douglas Adams.
One book that made you cry: Before I Die by Jenny Downham
One book you keep rereading: Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine
One book you’ve been meaning to read: Animal Farm by George Orwell
One book you believe everyone should read: Nation by Terry Pratchett

Finally,
Grab the nearest book. Open it to page 56. Find the fifth sentence
”I’m a washed-up child prodigy,” Colin said.
From: An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.

This was a fun meme! You’ve never finished Lord of the Rings? Oh, you have to! Or do you not like it…if you don’t like it then you don’t have to ;) I still haven’t read The Book Thief but that is scheduled to change this year!

Nope, never managed to finish the thing. Each time I try, I race past the half-way stage or so, put it down for a day or two, and then never get back into it. :(

oh, and you obviously read the post before I realised I’d left one of Eva’s answers in when I cut and pasted the questions. ;) I tried to read The Book Thief last year and couldn’t get into it. :(

Totally with you on Nation :D And I’ve only read Last Chance to See once so far, but it’s definitely one I’ll be re-reading.

Also, Katherines! I read Paper Towns yesterday. And as a result I could barely read at all today. It was so good I need time to recover.

I just saw this meme at Eva’s (A Striped Armchair) and I’d love to do it. I’m going around right now to see what others have written. Thanks.

I haven’t even finished The Hobbit yet…so don’t feel bad…I have a TBR stack entirely dedicated to Tolkien.
