Another Giveaway!

Well since the last one was so much fun, I’ve decided to hold another giveaway, in fact make that two giveaways! Yep that’s right, two giveaways (and it’s not even a month since my last one!)

The End of Mr. Y by Scarlett Thomas

First up is my copy of, The End of Mr. Y by Scarlet Thomas, a book I had mixed feelings about, but I know is loved by many of it’s readers, so this could be your chance to make your own mind up, should you win!.

A cursed book. A missing professor. Some nefarious men in gray suits. And a dreamworld called the Troposphere?

Ariel Manto has a fascination with nineteenth-century scientists—especially Thomas Lumas and The End of Mr. Y, a book no one alive has read. When she mysteriously uncovers a copy at a used bookstore, Ariel is launched into an adventure of science and faith, consciousness and death, space and time, and everything in between.

Seeking answers, Ariel follows in Mr. Y’s footsteps: She swallows a tincture, stares into a black dot, and is transported into the Troposphere—a wonderland where she can travel through time and space using the thoughts of others. There she begins to understand all the mysteries surrounding the book, herself, and the universe. Or is it all just a hallucination?

With The End of Mr. Y, Scarlett Thomas brings us another fast-paced mix of popular culture, love, mystery, and irresistible philosophical adventure.

Second, is a pair of books by Michael Molloy I mooched some time back, but have been languishing in my TBR pile, and as other books are calling out to me more at the momemt, I think they may be better served in a new home where they’ll be read and loved!

The Witch Trade:

In a strange world where good is threatened by evil night witches, a thrilling adventure is about to begin. Meet Abby, Spike, Captain Starlight, and Benbow, the Captain’s faithful albatross. Spurred on by Sir Chadwick, the flamboyant leader of the Light Witches, they set off on a journey across shark-boat infested seas to discover the hidden source of all Black Witch power.

The Time Witches:

In this rollicking new adventure, we are reintroduced to Wolfbane, the escaped leader of the evil Night Witches. Wolfbane and his dreadful mother, Lucia Cheeseman, plot revenge on the heroes of THE WITCH TRADE.

Between them, they conspire to summon up a long dead witch who knows the secret of time travel, allowing them to go back in time to change the course of events that led to their downfall. This sequel offers a hilarious second glimpse into the world of THE WITCH TRADE, but for children who haven’t read the first book, it can easily stand on its own as a brand new adventure.

So, what are the rules?

Simple, just comment on any post between now and midnight (GMT) 31st August and receive an entry for each comment (repeated entries of simply “nice review.” or similar will be weeded out and not counted though 😉 )

Blog about my giveaway on your blog (and let me know about it) and you’ll receive an extra 3 entries!

The winners will be selected at random using random.org on the 1st of September. (First out of the hat gets first choice and second out of the hat gets, you guessed it, second choice!)

Participation is worldwide on this one, so feel free to enter wherever you are!

Just as one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, so goes it with books. Everyone has different tastes and thank goodness they do so we have tons of books to choose from. It’s fun to try a little of everything and see if we each like it. There’s only been one book in my life that I absolutely couldn’t finish. I tried 3 separate times and gave up. Anyhow, I’d love the chance to win these. Thanks for the opportunity.
