I've just finished reading this, and I have to admit that I first picked it up because of the black page edges too! I loved the book, but agree that it went a bit too technical in places. She has an amazing imagination!

I loved the language theory in this, and yes I brought it for its black edges and because the design reminded me of The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters

Nothing wrong with going for aesthetics when picking up a book. Of course you can't really count my opinion as I did buy a series of James Bond novels just because I liked the retro cover art.

I've read a couple reviews and a handful of blurbs about this book, and now my curiosity is definitely piqued. When a person can't figure out how they feel about a book, it often means there's something there that gnaws at your mind. I always want to know what that thing is.

"The pages had black edges!!!"
Ha ha, So true! Glad I did though, cracking read. Maybe it is because I am interested in theoretical physics and the other topics they discussed, but I thought they were a great and added a dimension to the book which I haven't really had before.
