And We're Off!

Or in about two hours we will be, anyway.

I don’t think I really know what I’ve let myself in for, but the last few weeks at work have been quite stressful (and did not include a day off!) So the idea of doing nothing but reading (and blogging:) ) for the next few hours is attractive, whether I’ll think that 2am in the morning is another thing entirely! (especially as the ‘thon starts at 5pm my time and I’ve already been up a good bit of the day :o .

So what am I planning to read?

Well I’ve got a pile of Quick Read’s still to read that I pick up for World Book Day back in March, so I’m thinking of starting with them, and build up a bit of momentum.

Other than that I’ve been meaning to attack The Book Thief for a while, I’ve just acquired a copy of The Invention of Hugo Cabert, which looks absolutely gorgeous! and I’ve still got about 2/3rd of Stardust to finish.

So that’s my plans for now, bound to change though! :)

Where are you reading from today?

From home, which is in Bradford, UK.

3 facts about me …

I either read 4 or 5 books a month or go 4 or 5 months between books, this is a habit I’m trying to quit, and hopefully keep reading throughout the year.

I’ve got fairly eclectic musical tastes, which I shall be listening to during the ‘thon.

This is my first day off in two weeks.
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?

Probably about 30 on the shelves, thanks to Bookmooch, aiming to read at least 4 though.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?

See above! :)

Any advice for people doing this for the first time?
None at all! This is my first time, so I’m basically making it up as I go along!

Ooh, you have some of my favorite books to read today! Can’t wait to hear how you like Hugo, especially.

Reading it at the moment :D

Wow the ‘thon (which I love by the way) is starting late for you!! 4 books! Just think you will get 1 months worth of reading in one day!! I think I am in the same boat since I get at most 2 hours Sat and Sun to read (when my daughter naps). :)
